
Jacqueline Norris Johnson, 80, of Norfolk and Virginia Beach, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, after a long battle with Parkinsonism.
She was born May 15, 1928, in Newport News to John William Norris and Lina Bell Patterson Norris.
She retired as a bookkeeper from the Navy Exchange in Norfolk.
She was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and was so proud of the article written about her and her Redskins memorabilia by the Virginian Pilot newspaper in Norfolk. Her other great interest and love was her membership in the Touched by Elvis Fan Club in Virginia Beach. She was a member of the Navy Exchange Retirees Association.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland ('Todd') Murray Johnson; brothers, Winard, Maynard, Lester, Harry, Artie ('Bill'), Kenneth, and Donald; sisters, Lora Morris, Geneva Robinson, and Bernice Helterbran; and nephews, Lloyd Morris, Artie Morris Jr. and John ('Billy') Norris II.
She is survived by nieces, Melva Lines of Louisa, Virginia Gunn of Richmond, Renee Benton of Bena, Gayle Rosser of Newport News, Laureen Deitrick of Calif., Donna Heaton of Texas, Dianne Evett of Calif., and Lorna Norris of Nev.; nephews, John Robinson of Hampton, Winard ('Buddy') Norris of Newport News, Robert ('Buddy') Helterbran of Pa., James Robinson of N.C., Donald Norris of Calif., and Robert Norris of Nev.; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, in W.J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will follow the service. Interment will be with her husband Todd in Arlington National Cemetery.
