There are several rivalry games on the schedule that come with the added bonus of having a heavy bearing on the playoff picture. One of them might have been the Buffalo Bills at the New York Jets had not each lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the last two weeks. The Niners go for the AFC East hat trick today at the Miami Dolphins. The big showdowns are the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Baltimore Ravens and the New York Giants at the Dallas Cowboys. The Steelers can clinch the AFC North and a first-round bye if they beat the Ravens in this matchup of the top two defenses in the league at 241.9 and 253.4 yards yielded per game, respectively. Pittsburgh won the earlier meeting on an overtime field goal. The Giants can clinch a first-round bye while a loss could put the Cowboys on the outside of the NFC wild card race. The Cowboys hold a tiebreaker edge over the Falcons for the wild card spot and can advance by winning out. Next up are the Ravens and Eagles, so their playoff road will be rough. In other top games, the Carolina Panthers can clinch a playoff berth by beating the Denver Broncos, who can clinch the AFC West with a victory; and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can wrap up a playoff berth by winning at Atlanta.12
