ASHBURN | Middle linebacker London Fletcher (sprained foot) did not wear a protective walking boot Friday, but sat out practice for the third consecutive day and said he would be a game-time decision Sunday when the Washington Redskins play the New York Giants at FedEx Field.
"I'm feeling better, not a hundred percent, but who is a hundred percent at this stage of the season?" Fletcher said .
The leader of the defense, Fletcher was injured in Sunday's 20-17 victory over Seattle . He has a team-high 86 tackles, including 60 unassisted, according to the Redskins' charts. Among the league's most durable players, Fletcher has started every game his teams have played since the 2001 season and has not missed a game in his 11-year career.
Portis questionable
Running back Clinton Portis, who recently added a rib muscle strain to his array of injuries, is considered "50-50" to play Sunday, coach Jim Zorn said Friday.
"There's a chance he'll be there," Zorn said after practice at Redskins Park, "but he's still questionable."
Although hampered by many injuries throughout the season, Portis has not missed a game and leads the NFL with 1,206 yards rushing.
more injuries
Offensive tackle Chris Samuels (knee) was limited in practice Friday but could play Sunday.
Samuels, who missed the first two days of practice this week, initially felt pain in his right knee Oct. 26 during pregame warmups and sat out Washington's 25-17 victory over Detroit, ending his streak at 73 consecutive starts in regular-season games. An MRI exam revealed no structural damage , but showed inflammation of cartilage behind his knee.
DE Andre Carter (foot) is expected to be a game-time decision, Zorn said. ... DT Cornelius Griffin (shoulder) practiced. ... DL Kedric Golston (bone spurs in ankle) did not practice but might play.

Late Pro Bowl safety Sean Taylor will be inducted into the Ring of Fame before Sunday's game against the Giants at FedEx Field. Taylor, who was 24, died Nov. 27, 2007, after being shot a day earlier during a robbery attempt at his Miami area home.
